Crocheting winter accessories is one of the most rewarding ways to stay cozy while creating something uniquely yours. Whether you're making gifts for loved ones or treating yourself, handmade hats bring warmth and personality to those chilly months. The Dahoon Slouch Beanie is the perfect project for crafting a lightweight winter hat that works beautifully during cool autumn evenings and mornings. Made with a light size 3 cotton blend yarn, this hat offers just the right amount of warmth without feeling heavy—ideal for layering or wearing on its own when temperatures dip.
Materials You'll Need
Yarn: 7 oz skein of light size 3 weight yarn. Lion Brand Comfy Cotton Blend in Silver Lining works beautifully for this pattern.

Band pattern: 2" × 2" = 8 dc sts × 3 rows
Body pattern: 3" × 3" = 5 puff sts × 3 rounds

Step-by-Step Instructions
Band
Row 1: Chain 12. Double crochet in the 4th chain from your hook (the chain 3 counts as a double crochet and will throughout the band). Double crochet in each stitch until the end. You'll have 10 double crochets total.
Row 2: Chain 3, turn your work. Front post double crochet around each double crochet stitch and in the last turning chain from the previous row.
Rows 3–31: Repeat Row 2. (For the Large size, work 32 rows instead.)
Finishing the Band: Slip stitch the band together at the ends to form a circle.
