Materials
- Yarn: Medium weight (Size 4) worsted — Red Heart Super Saver Acrylic in YELLOW, ORANGE, and WHITE
- Crochet Hook: Size F / 3.75mm
- Extras: Yarn needle, stitch markers, safety eyes, polyfill stuffing
Finished Size
Approximately 7 inches tall × 5 inches wide. Using a smaller hook creates a stiffer fabric that holds its shape better.
Abbreviations
- St = stitch
- Ch = chain
- Sc = single crochet
- Slst = slip stitch
- Beg = beginning
- CC = change color
- PM = place marker
- Sc2tog = single crochet decrease (2 stitches together)
Pattern Notes
- The base is worked in an oblong shape. Single crochet decreases are staggered for a clean, uniform appearance.
- This candy corn is worked in the round — continue working in the same direction throughout.
- Use a scrap piece of yarn or a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round.
Instructions
Base — Work in YELLOW
Rnd 1: Using YELLOW, ch 12. Work 3 sc into the 3rd ch from hook, 1 sc in each of the next 8 ch sts, 3 sc in the last ch. Continue working on the opposite side of the foundation chain: 1 sc in the remaining 8 ch sts. PM. (22 sc)
Rnd 2: Skip the beg turn ch. Work 2 sc in each of the next 3 sc, 1 sc in the next 8 sts, 2 sc in each of the next 3 sts, 1 sc in the remaining 8 sts. PM. (28 sc)
Rnd 3: [2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st] × 3, 1 sc in next 8 sts, [2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st] × 3, 1 sc in remaining 8 sts. PM. (34 sc)
Rnd 4: [2 sc, 1 sc, 1 sc] × 3, 1 sc in next 8 sts, [2 sc, 1 sc, 1 sc] × 3, 1 sc in remaining 8 sts. PM. (40 sc)

💡 Tip: Now is the time to add your safety eyes and stitch a small mouth. Place eyes in the ORANGE section between rounds 21–22, about 3–4 sts apart. See photo for reference. Begin stuffing with polyfill or your preferred filler.
Rnd 25: [1 sc in next 5 sts, sc2tog] × 4. (24 sc)
Rnd 26: 1 sc in each st around. (24 sc)
Rnd 27: [1 sc, 1 sc, sc2tog, 1 sc, 1 sc] × 4. (20 sc)
Rnd 28: 1 sc in each st around. (20 sc)
Rnd 29: [1 sc in next 3 sts, sc2tog] × 4. (16 sc)
Rnd 30: 1 sc in each st around. (16 sc)
Rnd 31: [1 sc, sc2tog, 1 sc] × 4. (12 sc)
Finish stuffing the candy corn fully before closing.

Rnd 35: [sc2tog] × 4, slst in next st. Fasten off. Weave in all ends.
